HomePal Standard Terms and Conditions

Welcome to HomePal.com.sg Terms and Conditions.

This Service is owned and operated by HomePal Pte. Ltd. The Services offered (the "Services") are provided to registered users who are at least 18 years old and resident in the Republic of Singapore ("Member") pursuant to these HomePal Pte. Ltd Terms and Conditions. By using this service, MEMBER AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE HOMEPAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS. If Member does not agree to these Terms and Conditions, Member may not use the Service. Prior to signing up as a member, you are advised to read the Terms and Conditions carefully.

HomePal.com.sg is a worldwide website owned and operated by HomePal Pte. Ltd. By accessing any areas of HomePal.com.sg, members ("Members") agree to be legally bound and to abide by the terms and conditions set forth herein (the "Terms and Conditions").

By electronically submitting an order via the HomePal website, Member is agreeing to be bound by all of HomePal's current terms and conditions related to the purchase and/or rental of HomePal products or services. Member's order will not be confirmed or processed unless Member consents to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. The Terms and Conditions shall be governed and interpreted by the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to conflicts of law principles.


Terms Description
"Customer" Means users of HomePal who are not registered members; on trial of HomePal services
"Disc" Means the physical medium
"Dispatch Delivery" Means from HomePal to members
"Return Delivery" Means from members to HomePal
"HomePal" Means HomePal Pte. Ltd.
"Member" Means approved and subscribing users of HomePal. Registered member.
"Movie" Means single-disc movie title
"Series" Means movie titles comprising of more than one disc
"VCD" Means Video Contents Compact Disc. Where Video/Audio contents are stored using compressed and standardized MPEG-1 (Motion Picture Expert Group) format.
"DVD" Means Digital Versatile Disc, one of the latest means of storing information on the optical media
"Futurepay Agreement" An agreement created between member and Credit Card Payment Company to establish a direct debit and standing order services at a fixed time with fixed amount.

Section 1. Member Obligations

In order to use the Services, Member agrees to: (a) provide true, accurate, current and complete information about Member at registration process (the "Registration Data") and (b) maintain and promptly update the Registration Data to keep it true, accurate, current and complete. If Member provides any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current, or incomplete, HomePal has reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete. HomePal has the right to suspend or terminate Member's account and refuse Member from any and all current or future use of the Services.

Section 2. Memberships and Billing

Unlimited Subscription Plans

  • As member of HomePal, you agree and approve to the Credit Card Payment Company (via the Futurepay Agreement) in use by HomePal Pte Ltd to charge your credit card/GIRO Account, a monthly subscription fee, and any other charges you may incur in connection with your use of HomePal website such as sales.
  • Your HomePal membership will automatically be renewed on a monthly basis. Your subscription fee will automatically charge to your credit card/GIRO Account at each month on the calendar day corresponding to the commencement of your membership. (provided during the registration process)
  • You will be notified via email by the Credit Card Company on the payment charged to your credit card.
  • In the event your membership began on a day not contained in any subsequent month, we will bill your credit card/GIRO Account on the last day of such month. Eg. If you have subscribed on 31st January, your membership will expire on the 28th of February, since it is the last day of the month. All fees and charges represent payment for subscription with HomePal for a period of one month are not refundable upon cancellation.

    HomePal constantly reviews the subscription rates, so as to offer our members competitive subscription rates. HomePal reserves the right to adjust the fees and charges, however members will be notified less than 2 months before the new subscription rates become effective.

    Important Notes:

       - Change of Credit Card or GIRO Account

  • Members should notify Credit Card Company when they have changed to different credit card.
  • For members whose payment method is via GIRO and wish to bill to another GIRO account, members shall notify HomePal on details of the new GIRO account.

       - Fail to rent
    Failure to rent a specific Movie/Series in the Rental Queue(s) during any applicable month does not entitle member to a refund. The monthly subscription fee is consideration for the opportunity to rent a certain number of DVD and not for consideration of the actual rental of the said DVD.


    In event where members do not receive discs due to the following reasons (but not limited to the following) does not entitle members to a refund:
  • Personal information such as address, credit card and other relevant details are not kept up-to-date.
  • Member Rental Queue(s) run out of movie-titles.
  • Long delay in getting certain movie titles (especially those popular movies) due to all the existing copies have been rented out. However, HomePal will assess the situation with the supply on demand basis, to ensure sufficient copies to minimise the delay.

    Casual Subscription Plan

    Members have to pay a *refundable security deposit during the registration process. The rental will be charged per rented disc. The payment method for this plan is by Credit Card only. In the event of cancellation of membership, members are required to return any outstanding movie(s) to HomePal. Upon the clearance of the outstanding movie(s), the security deposit will be refunded to member. Note that the *refundable security deposit would not subject to any interest.

    Section 3. Automatic Renewals

    Your HomePal membership will be automatically renewed monthly based on the Futurepay Agreement you have subscribed with the Credit Card Company or the GIRO Account you have nominated during the Registration process. For credit card payment method, members will be notified of any successful/unsuccessful billing. For GIRO payment method, members will be able to know from their bank statements provided by your banks.

    If, for any reason, HomePal is unable to bill your credit card/GIRO Account due to any act or omission of yours (such as credit card expiration without you giving Credit Card Payment Company a new credit card number or the GIRO Account was having insufficient fund), you agree that HomePal can engage in one of two actions:

    1. If HomePal determines that you do not have any DVD from HomePal collection, the inability of HomePal to bill your credit card/GIRO Account constitutes the termination of your membership, with or without notifying you.

    2.If HomePal determines that you have a DVD from the HomePal collection, HomePal will take any appropriate actions, including handing your account over to a collection agency or filing civil suit. You agree and acknowledge that in the event HomePal needs to take such steps, you will be responsible for any attorney fees, court fees, collection fees, and any other fees necessary to the recover the products or payments.

    In any case, HomePal will first attempt to notify member, should such incident does occured. If no action is taken by member to rectify the situation, HomePal would without hesitation, to take the necessary action.

    For members who are on Cheque payment option, HomePal expect members to mail their Cheque/Money Order 1 week prior to the expiry date, to ensure a smooth automatic renewal of account. Early Cheque received will not be transacted until the actual expiry date. However, in the case where member failed to mail the renewal Cheque/Money Order despite several reminders, HomePal reserves the right to terminate member's account and keep the Refundable Security Deposit without returning.


    Section 4. Conditions of Rental

    For any rental services requested with HomePal, you agree to be legally bound by an additional and separate electronic contract of rental ("Conditions of Rentals"), which shall be effective upon HomePal's acceptance of your membership subscription.

    Section 5. Conditions for Sales

    For any sale made with HomePal, you agree to be legally bound by an additional and separate electronic contract of sale ("Conditions of Sales"), which shall be effective upon HomePal's acceptance of your membership subscription.

    Section 6. Delivery and Return of Discs

    HomePal uses Singapore Postal Services to fulfill the despatch delivery of disc(s) to members and fulfills the return delivery. Prepaid postage or Reply paid envelopes will be used and provided for the return delivery. However, the delivery times may vary from time to time and may subject to the following factors (however not limited to the following):

       -   Your location (postal address)
       -   The number of postal collection done in your area
       -   Others factors outside control of HomePal eg delay in the postal service


    Members will be notified by email when a disc has been despatched out to you.

    You understand and acknowledge that the speed of despatch and return delivery may be affected by factors outside the control of HomePal. HomePal cannot be responsible for delays caused by third-party carriers. However should the disc(s) be unreasonably delayed, you should contact HomePal (customerservice@homepal.com.sg) to alert or notify us of the issue. Appropriate actions shall be undertaken to prevent the future happenings

    Section 7. Membership Cancellation

    Member need to ensure his/her cancellation is done 2 or 3 days BEFORE his/her next account billing date to avoid renewal being activated. No refund will be given if cancellation is done AFTER the billing date.

    Pre-requisites:
  • Members may cancel their membership with HomePal at anytime and it will take effect immediately.
  • Before cancellation is permitted, member must return all outstanding DVDs by and before the next billing cycle. Otherwise the billing cycle for the following month will proceed.
  • EMPTY your Rental Queue to avoid automatic despatching of disc(s) and further membership renewal.

    After cancellation:
  • Access to your HomePal account will be disabled after you have confirmed to proceed with the cancellation.
  • Refunds to unused portions of a membership will NOT be given ie unused remaining days of a subscribed month.
  • Member's remaining E-Reward points and other priviledges, if any, will be forfeited upon cancellation.

    Members on Credit Card payment method

    Before you can proceed with cancellation of Futurepay Agreement with the Credit Card Company, you must have returned all movies currently rented, to HomePal by and before the next billing cycle. Failure to do so will either:

  • Postpone your cancellation, and you agree and acknowledge that HomePal can continue to bill your credit card monthly until and unless you have returned all rented movies, or
  • Be charged for the replacement cost of the outstanding medias. The replacement cost is SGD$40 per media.

           HomePal reserves the right to decide on any and/or combination of options described in the above.

    HomePal engages an independent Credit Card Company to carry out billing. Members who cancel their membership with HomePal after having satisfied the above Membership cancellation pre-requisites, must then proceed to cancel FuturePay Agreement with the Credit Card Company.

    Members on GIRO Payment Method

    To avoid billing of subscription fees to your credit card or GIRO Account, members must cancel your membership with HomePal before the next membership renewal.

    Members, who cancel their membership with HomePal after having satisfied the above Membership cancellation pre-requisites, must then proceed to advise your Financial Institution. HomePal is not authorised to perform cancellation on members' behalf.

    In cases where the termination of Futurepay Agreement with the Credit Card company or your Financial Institution, is not terminated in time to be effective for the next billing period that led to subsequent charges, HomePal will not be held responsible on the charges.


    Members on Cheque Payment Method

    The following describes the proper cancellation procedures:

    1. Logon to your member homepage, empty your Rental Queue.
    2. Return all DVDs in hand to HomePal.
    3. Upon receiving email confirmation on the returned DVDs, proceed to cancel your membership. Follow the "Membership Cancellation" link found under the My Account menu tab.
    4. Your Security Deposit will be returned to you immediately.


    Summary of proper cancellation procedures

    Member shall abide the following procedures to avoid unnecessary confusions or disputes:

    1. Logon to your HomePal member page, and REMOVE all the movies in the Rental Queue(s).(if any)
    2. Return any outstanding movies in hand (if any) via the Prepaid Return Envelope.
    3. Following the above step 2 (if applicable), upon receiving email confirmation of movies returned by HomePal, logon to HomePal member page, and click on the "Membership Cancellation" link on the "My Account" menu page, and following the instructions to cancel the membership.
    4. Logon to the Credit Card Payment Company Website to cancel the Futurepay Agreement (For Credit Card Payment Method members) OR
    5. Inform your Financial Institution to cancel this GIRO account (For GIRO Payment Method members)

    Section 8. Upgrade/Downgrade of membership.

    Members may upgrade or downgrade their subscription plan. The upgrading or downgrading of membership plan will take effect immediately. All upgrade or downgrade of membership plan can be initiated via the "Upgrade/Downgrade plan" link in "My Account" menu page. The following highlight the details:

    Note: It is advisable to upgrade/downgrade plan, 2 days before the current plan expiring, since any unused days of the previous plan will not be refunded.


    1. Unlimited-to-Unlimited plan (Credit Card payment option) - Members on this payment option can upgrade or downgrade of their membership plan with immediate effect. Their original Futurepay Agreement will be cancelled and new Agreement will be created with Credit Card Payment Company. No refund will be given on the unused portion of the old subscription.

    Note: If member wish to change the payment option to GIRO payment, please email customer service representative for GIRO application form. This application may take to 2-3 weeks depending on the financial institutions. Members will have to wait for the approval of the GIRO account application before can effectively upgrade or downgrade membership plan.

    Unlimited-to-Unlimited plan (GIRO payment option) - Members on this payment option can upgrade or downgrade of their membership plan with immediate effect, regardless of the selected payment option (Credit Card or GIRO option) for the new plan.

    Unlimited-to-Unlimited Plan (Cheque Payment Option) - Members on this payment option can upgrade or downgrade their rental plan with immediate effect. However, if upgraded to new plan, member need to top-up the Refundable Security Deposit to make up a 1 month deposit amount in additional to the 1 month membership fee charge. If rental plan is downgraded, HomePal will refund to member the different of the previous Security Deposit amount and the new membership fee charge.


    2. Unlimited to Casual - The existing Futurepay Agreement will be cancelled with Credit Card Payment Company. Members are required to pay a *refundable security deposit. Only Credit Card payment option is allowed. Members, who are on this path, must return any outstanding disc(s) in hand immediately upon successfully changed to new membership plan. HomePal reserves the right to charge late fees on the outstanding disc(s), not returning to us after 4 days.

    3. Casual to Casual - The upgrade or downgrade of Casual Rental plan will take immediate effect.
    a. Casual Light to Heavy (Upgrade) - Member is subject to additional payment on the *refundable security deposit.
    b. Casual Heavy to Light (Downgrade) - Member will be refunded on the different of the new *refundable security deposit. Member is reminded to return the additional disc(s) in hand immediately. HomePal reserves the right to impose late fees, should the disc(s) are not return to us.
    Note: Only Credit Card payment option is allowed.

    4. Casual to Unlimited - New Futurepay Agreement will be established between member and Credit Card Payment Company. The new plan fee will be charged at the time of membership plan changed, and the new plan will take effect immediately.

    The security deposit will be refunded to member after the new plan has take effect.

    Members, who wish to pay by GIRO payment option, will have to email our customer service representative to arrange for the GIRO application form. The new membership plan will only take effect upon the approval of the GIRO Account application by member's financial institution.

    Section 9. Temporary suspension of membership

    Members may temporary suspend their membership for genuine reason(s) to retain their benefits with HomePal. The billing will be temporarily withheld during the stated suspension period. However, you must re-activate your membership before the suspension period ends. Failure to re-activate your membership by the end of the stated suspension period, HomePal in its own discretion, reserves the right to terminate your account.

    Member must return all the outstanding discs to HomePal before the suspension is permitted, otherwise, billing will be resumed as normal. To avoid the automatic despatching of disc(s), member is encouraged to EMPTY their Rental Queue.Note that during the suspension period, all benefits including E-Reward points will be temporary suspended.

    Note: Members on Credit Card payment, will be receiving email (sent by the Credit Card Payment Company) stating payment has been charged to their credit card, on their monthly renewal date (after they have suspended their account). This is an automated email by the Futurepay Agreement. Dont be alarmed! No actual payment is being charged to their credit card. Please ignore this email.


    Section 10. Rental of DVD

    As a member, you agree to use the HomePal's DVD movies for you own private use, and not for any public or commercial purpose or broadcast of any kind. You agree not to copy or have copies made of any DVD movie or any portion thereof. You agree that the determination of liquid damages to HomePal for unauthorized copying or illegal use of DVD movies is difficult to determine, but will include the necessary destruction of the original DVD movie, loss of future rental income, expense for the purchase of a new DVD movie, and other similar expenses. Because of the difficulty in assigning liquidated damages, you agree in advance to assign liquidated damages in the amount of SGD Five-Hundred Dollars (SGD$500) for any breach of the Rental of DVD Movies portion of the Terms of Use.

    Section 11. Ex-Rental and New DVD Sales

    Ex-Rental sales

    From time to time, HomePal will offer ex-rental and/or new DVDs sale through it's website. For Ex-Rental titles, HomePal
  • will thoroughly check and clean the Disc(s) prior sending it out to you
  • assures the Disc(s) are playable before being despatched to you
  • however cannot guarantee scratchless / unmarked / perfect disc(s)

    However if the disc(s) of the Movies/Series purchased does not play, you will have 10 days to return the disc(s). HomePal reserves the right to repair the disc(s) or post a refund where applicable.

    New DVD Sales

    The new DVD(s) are generally 'shrink wrapped', however in some cases they may not be so as they are sold in the exact form supplied by HomePal's suppliers. In this case, the disc(s) will be visually checked to ensure there are no scratches or marks before the disc(s) are despatched to you

    Unless faulty, HomePal does not offer cash refunds or exchanges, or accept the return of non-faulty disc(s).


    Section 12. Like it, keep it

    From time to time, HomePal provides their members with opportunity to watch/rent before own the Movies/Series. Such movies will be offered in the 'Like it, keep it' category, where members select the Movies/Series to rent as per rental procedure. After viewing the Movie/Series, should member decide to own the Movie/Series (while the disc is still with you), you are allowed to own the Movie/Series by paying a small fee. This can be easily done by logging in to HomePal website, to acknowledge your wish to own the Movie/Series.

    However, members can also own the movie/Series without having to rent it. This can be done by clicking the "Own Movie" button of that particular displayed movie title.

    Upon accepting the small fee (via Credit card) the sale transaction is considered complete. The Movie/Series casing/cover will be posted to member with additional delivery charges. HomePal would not guarantee the Movie/Series casing/cover would be in brand new condition.

    After the sale transaction has completed, HomePal will not accept the return of Movies/Series disc(s) in any form and condition. The reason for such term is that member has viewed, checked while the disc(s) was with him/her, HomePal employee(s) has not handled the disc(s) since the acceptance of the offer from member

    All Movies/Series sold in this category are not returnable and refundable.


    Section 13. Casual Plan

    The casual rental plan provides you the traditional method of movie rental. You pay a *refundable security deposit and you will only be charged for each rental. No membership or monthly subscription fees on this plan. You are given a 2 or 3 days rental period (depending on New Release or Catalogue Movies) to enjoy the movies from the moment you receive them. On the day the Movie is despatched, a mail will be sent to you stating:

  • Movie title
  • The date you need to despatch the movie back to HomePal


    The following scenario applies for New Release 2-Days Loan period:

    The following scenario applies for Catalogue Movies 3-Days Loan period:

    The above states the timeframe for rental of Catalogue and New Releases. For every day of delay, of each Movie is expected to be returned to HomePal (from the day HomePal expected your return), SDG$1 (subject to change) overdue fee will be charged.

    A maximum allowable number of 10 days of overdue (from the day HomePal expected your return) is allowed. After 10 days overdue, HomePal in its own discretion may take the following actions (however not limited to the following).

    1. Bill member for the cost of the movies plus the overdue fines.
    2. Deduct the cost of the movies plus the overdue fines from the security deposit (if sufficient fund available)

    In any case, HomePal seeks cooperation from members such that the movies are returned on time. This is to eliminate unnecessary disruption in movie rental experience by other members. If this is done repeatedly or deliberately, HomePal reserves the right to reduce the movie to be rented out by member or may have to terminate his/her membership.

    Please also read the "Conditions of Rentals" for other relevant details.


    Section 14. Review Guidelines

    Members are encourage to follow the review guidelines stated below:
    - Submit only 1 review per Movie per member.
    - Describe or elaborate in details why you like or disliked the Movie.
    - Rate the Movie by nominating the number of stars with explanation/reason.
    - Read up the same review submitted by other members, if any.
    - Make a comparison of the similar Movie.
    - Proof read your review before submit, to ensure readability.

    Note: All reviews will be screened and endorsed by the relevant personnel of HomePal before they are posted for public viewing.

    Reviews will not be approved for posting if contain the following (but not limited to the following):
    - Harsh, profane or discriminatory language
    - URLs, phone numbers, mailing or email addresses
    - One-word or no commentaries (only stars rating)
    - Personal attacks on the Movie's creative personnel

    Members should feedback to HomePal Management, should they discover reviews that do not follow these guidelines to admin@homepal.com.sg

    All submitted reviews become property of HomePal, and we reserve the right to edit, amend, and discard the submitted reviews


    Section 15. Gift Vouchers

    1. HomePal Gift Vouchers are prepaid movie rental voucher with free rental period specified in the voucher.
    2. In general, this voucher is for any person who is not a registered HomePal member.
    3. Anyone (including HomePal's members) can purchase this Gift Voucher as a gift or present for their love one.
        Note: The voucher recipient is required a valid Credit Card (VISA or MASTER) in order to redeem the gift.
    4. Activation of the Gift Voucher can be easily done by entering your gift code (indicated on the voucher) at HomePal homepage or by typing the gift code in the Step 1 registration page.
    5. A one-time small fee (Account Setup fee) will be charged to the recipient's credit card during the registration process. HomePal reserves the right to change the fee amount without advance notice to Members.
    6. The Gift voucher is tied to a fixed membership plan (Economy Plan), therefore, voucher recipient is not able to choose the rental plan.

    Section 16. Free Trial Rental Experience

    HomePal Free Trial rental service is a free service (on rental) to provide the opportunity to public users who wish to experience the unlimited movie rental experience with HomePal. This service is only made available during promotion period, or given as special treat to special people. Except During a promotion period, HomePal would offers Free Trial rental to any public users who is not HomePal registered member. It is a limited free trial period may terminate any time without notice. Trial offers cannot be combined with any other offer. Limit one per household. Valid credit card required for free trial. First time customers only. Offer only available to Singaporeans and Singapore Residents. HomePal reserves the right to change the terms and conditions at any time. A one time small fee (Account Setup fee) will be charged during the registration process. HomePal reserves the right to change the fee amount without advance notice to customers.

    Your free trial membership will begin when you complete the registration process. After the free trial customers are automatically converted to Members of HomePal. If you are enjoying HomePal services, do nothing, and your membership will automatically continue with a flat monthly fee as indicated to you, for as long as you choose to remain as member.

    However, customers who do not wish to join as Members, they can do so by simply canceling before the end of the trial period, by logging on to HomePal website and the Credit Card Company. To cancel free trial, refer Section 7. Membership Cancellation procedures. No Refunds for late cancellation of free trial leading to Membership subscription.

    Your free trial entitles you, during the term of your free trial, to the same service provided to our paying members.


    Section 17. Website Usage

    Use of the website is restricted by all applicable laws. Additionally, use of the website constitutes your acceptance and agreement that you will post no defamatory, infringing, damaging, illegal, or offensive content. HomePal is not responsible for screening, policing, editing, or monitoring website content, however HomePal will take steps to ensure that offensive material is removed upon being made aware of the existence of such offensive content. HomePal reserves the right to prohibit conduct, communication, or content which HomePal determines to be offensive, illegal, damaging, defamatory, or for any other legal reason, in its sole discretion.

    Neither HomePal nor any of its advertisers, providers, sponsors, merchants, managers, or licensors, or any of their respective officers, directors, employees, or agents shall be liable for any action or inaction with respect to conduct, communication, or content on the website or DVD movies.     Section 18. Member Conducts

    Member undertakes to treat the DVDs with respect and care and will endeavour to ensure that no damage is done to the discs or their packaging. The member undertakes not to make any illegal copies of the DVDs and to respect the copyright of the movies.
    By accessing the homepal.com.sg website, you agree not to upload, post, email or otherwise send or transmit any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment associated with the HomePal.com.sg website. You also agree not to interfere with the servers or networks connected to the HomePal.com.sg website or to violate any of the procedures, policies or regulations of networks connected to the HomePal.com.sg website, the terms of which are incorporated herein. You also agree not to impersonate any other person while using the HomePal.com.sg, conduct yourself in a vulgar or offensive manner while using our service, or use the HomePal.com.sg website for any unlawful purpose


    Section 19. Damaged and Lost of DVD

    As part of your membership within HomePal, you agree that you will return all movies rented in working condition. You understand that DVD movies are a media that is susceptible to damage from extreme heat, cold, direct sunlight, and direct physical damage, including scratching and bending. Any DVD Movie that is damaged, without evidence of wrongdoing on your part, may be returned to HomePal immediately, after you have lodged a report to our customerservice@homepal.com.sg. Upon return, HomePal shall assess the damages, and HomePal reserves the right to make the final decision whether you should be paying for the damage.

    Lost of DVD movies are subject to a fee of $30, or the cost of the purchase of a new DVD, and you agree that HomePal can charge this amount to your credit card/GIRO Account. Members are responsible for the Return of DVD to HomePal, since they have the full control when, how and where to drop off the returning mail. HomePal relies on Singapore Post to return the DVD, and we believe that the mailing service of Singapore Post is 100% reliable. However, HomePal will take every step to investigate on any report lodged by member, and HomePal, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to terminate the membership and/or charge member, should the DVD which was despatched to member, did not return to HomePal.

    All mail posted out to member via Singapore Post, is expected to be delivered in next 1-2 working days (from the date stated in the email notification). Should member didnt receive the said mail (DVD) within the said timing or after 2 working days, member is responsible to inform or report it to Homepal Customer Service via email immediately. If no feedback from member after 1-2 working days, Homepal will make the assumption that the posted mail (DVD) has been delivered to member. In such scenario, any feedback of lost of DVD or mail not received, thereafter, will not be accepted and member is responsible to make the neccessary replacement or purchase the same DVD (same region code) to be returned to Homepal.

    HomePal is not responsible for any damage caused by the rented DVD Movie to any of your player, system, or similar hardware.


    Section 20. Electronics Communication

    When you visit HomePal.com.sg or send emails or messages to us, you are communicating with us electronically. You consent to receive communications from us electronically. We will communicate with you by email or by posting messages on this site or your member page. You agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.

    Section 21. Termination of Usage

    If you deemed to provide false, misleading, outdated or incomplete information upon registration or violate any of the Terms and Conditions. HomePal reserves the right to terminate your access, or suspend any of your access to all or part of HomePal, without notice, for any conduct that HomePal, in its sole discretion, believes is in violation of any applicable law or is harmful to the interests of another User, a third-party Provider, a Merchant, a Sponsor, a Licensor, a service provider or HomePal. HomePal shall solely make the final decision in relation to the suspension or termination of your membership account

    Section 22. Disclaimer of warranties and Limitation of liability

HOMEPAL DOES NOT MAKE ANY REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO THE OPERATION OF THE SITE, THE INFORMATION, CONTENT, MATERIALS OR PRODUCTS, INCLUDED ON THIS SITE. PRICE AND AVAILABILITY INFORMATION IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. HOMEPAL. PTE. LTD. WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING FROM THE USE OF THIS SITE. Ltd. and its software is protected by Singapore and international copyright laws. The content and software on this site may be used as a shopping resource. Any other use, including the reproduction, modification, distribution, transmission, republication, display or performance, of the content on this site is strictly prohibited.

    "HomePal" and "HomePal.com.sg" are trademarks of HomePal Pte. Ltd. Other HomePal Pte. Ltd trademarks as well as any third party trademarks, service marks, logos, and trade names appearing on this Web Site or on or through the Services are the property of their respective owners.

    Section 26. Severability

    Any provision of the Terms and Conditions or any other portion of the membership agreement (including the privacy policy) found in violation of law or public policy, or otherwise found to be void or unenforceable, is severable. The remainder of the contract continues to apply to the relation between the parties, and the legal and enforceable arrangement closest to the original intent of the agreement may replace the unenforceable or void portion of the Terms and Conditions.

    Section 27. Governing Law

    You acknowledge and agree that the Terms and Conditions (including all other contract, and conditions of use found in the website) and all other actions and relations between HomePal and its members are governed and construed in accordance with laws of the Republic of Singapore.

    Section 28. Changes to Terms and Conditions

    HomePal reserves the right, from time to time, with or without notice to you, to change these Terms and Conditions or pricing in the sole discretion of the Management of HomePal Pte. Ltd. The most current Terms of Use on the HomePal website will supercede all previous versions. Your use of the HomePal website after changes are made to the Terms and Conditions indicates your acceptance and agreement to be bound by such changes.

    Section 29. Privacy

    We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will not share, trade, sell, or in any way divulge your personal information (including your purchase/rental history) to any third parties, in strict accordance with Singapore law.     Section 30. Refund Policy

    Casual Subscription Plan
    The deposit placed by casual members will be wholly refunded upon cancellation subject to Section 7. Membership Cancellation, Section 19 Damaged and Lost of DVD

    Unlimited Subscription Plan
    The Membership subscription fee represents payment for subscription with HomePal for a period of one month are not refundable upon cancellation. Refunds to unused portions of a membership will not be given ie unused remaining days of a subscribed month.

    Failure to rent a specific Movie/Series in the Rental Queue(s) during any applicable month does not entitle a member to a refund. The monthly subscription fee is consideration for the opportunity to rent a certain number of DVD and not for consideration of the actual rental of the said DVD.

    In event where members do not receive discs due to the following reasons (but not limited to the following) does not entitle members to a refund:
  • Personal information such as address, credit card details are not kept up-to-date
  • Member Rental Queue(s) run out of movie-titles
  • Member Rental Queue(s) not updated and/or the remaining movie-titles contain movies not held in stock by HomePal

    Ex-Rental sales
    Disc(s) of the Movies/Series purchased does not play; you will have 10 days to return the disc(s). HomePal reserves the right to repair the disc(s) or post a refund where applicable.

    New DVD Sales
    Unless faulty, HomePal does not offer cash refunds or exchanges, or accept the return of non-faulty disc(s). Members will be given 14 days upon purchased, to return the faulty disc(s). No items will be accepted after this time. The returning faulty disc(s) should accompany by its original seal and wrapper.

    Like it, keep it
    All Movies/Series sold in this category are not returnable and refundable.

    Gift Voucher
    All Gift Voucher purchased are not refundable.
    Members on Gift Voucher rental may cancel their membership at anytime, no refund will be given on the remaining unused period.


    Refunds will be given at the discretion of the management.

    *Refundable Security Deposit (Casual Plans Only) - There will be $5 deducted from the deposit due to bank/transaction charges, if no rental is made by the casual plan member.
